Connect Co Delivery App Intructions

Please follow the following steps to setup and configure the Connect Co. App

Settings

  1. Request Connect Co. for an API key once you have registered and fill in the Connect Co. API key field. If you need a test environment please request Connect Co. for a test API key and enable the test environment during testing phase only. 
  2. Default payment type- This is a required field when submitting an order to Connect Co. It will generally get populated based on the payment type chosen by the customer when checking out (Direct to merchant- Card, Bank Transfer or any direct payment method, Cash on delivery- Payment to be collected by Connect Co.). A default is chosen here in order to pre-fill the order form and will be over written when the customer checks out.
  3. Average weight of package- This is a required field when submitting an order to Connect Co. The weight of the packages when sending and order to Connect Co. will get auto populated based on your product details. However, if you have not defined a weight in your product setup, the weight being entered here will be used.
  4. Average size of package- This is a required field when submitting an order to Connect Co. Please choose the most frequent size you will use as it will assist Connect Co. in choosing the delivery vehicle for your orders (Bike,Tuk etc)
  5. Default delivery type- This is a required field when submitting an order to Connect Co. Choose the common delivery type you would use. If you allow the customers to choose the delivery type when they check out, the customers chosen method will over write it. Otherwise the default value will always be populated.
  6. Mark-up on delivery cost- If you wish to add a mark up on the delivery cost you can specify it here. This will be added on top of Connect Co.’s dynamic rate and displayed to the customer when.
  7. Standard/Scheduled/Same-day Delivery Description- When you use the app and choose the show Connect Co. Delivery Estimation in front end(Step 8) option, the following pop up will show at Check-out. You have the flexibility to describe each delivery option here based on your internal process.
  8. Show Connect Co. Delivery availability in front end- When you enable this option, available delivery options and delivery cost will dynamically update based on your customers chosen City. The Connect Co. app will then pre-fill the City selected here when creating the shipment. This will assist you downstream when syncing orders to Connect Co. as you wont have to manually select the relevant City
  9. Show Same-day/Scheduled Delivery availability in front end- You can choose to enable or disable these two options which are shown to your customers based on your internal processes
  10. Button settings- We have given flexibility to choose the appearance of the button that shows the estimated shipping costs in the cart page. Please change the button text, button colour and text colour based on your theme preferences.

Front end Functionality

 11. If front end functionality is enabled on the configuration page settings (point 7), the customer will see a button in the cart page to estimate shipping costs. The customer needs to input their respective City to generate the cost and pricing will be based on the weight of the products in the cart at that time.
 
*It is important to note that the city and delivery type chosen here will be used to populate the shipping details in the Connect Co app back end. The customers must ensure to fill the same City when they go to the check-out page.

Back end Functionality

12. All orders which are placed will appear in the back end under > Apps > Connect Co. Shipping.

13. Review and Sync orders with the Connect Console

Individual Order

Bulk Orders

14. Print waybills :- Once an order has been synced, you can select and print waybills in bulk or individually. The waybill will generate in a new tab as a PDF and will only generate after an order is Synced

15. Check Delivery Status :- You can check the delivery status of each order individually or in bulk by clicking the “Live Status” or “Bulk Status” buttons. Please note that you need to refresh the page to view the updated statuses

Special Considerations

Please be advised that you need to setup at least one fixed shipping rate in your store under “Shipping and Delivery” > “Local Delivery Methods”. This is due to the fact that the customer can bypass the Connect Co app if they wish to directly purchase a product without filling the “Delivery Estimate” option provided by Connect Co in the front end. Setting this up will ensure that the shipping cost the customer pays will always be bound by the fixed cost you set and never end up being zero.
